More about the word Yatsar

(Gen 2:7) ' Then the Lord God formed man after His own image, of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being....."

Non-Profit About Max Mostert

Yatsar Centre is a non-profit organisation that operates with the mercy of our Lord, as it provides shelter, food and employment for homeless people in Africa, as well as acting as an effective distribution agent to serve other missions to the effect of providing food and necessities on an ongoing basis.

We do not believe in street collections, but utilize a workforce of skilled people to assist us in achieving  certain set goals. These people come from broken marriages, destroyed dreams and disillusionment. Our mission is to guide them back to a normal and fruitful life.

However, an institution like ours cannot operate successfully only on what we believe in, or what we plan. We are dependent on the business community to assist us with whatever means they have at their disposal. It is for this reason that we are taking the liberty of turning to people like you for donations of any kind. ...Read More

Yatsar Institute Background Partners

In 1996 we apply to the Pretoria City Council to rent a house adjacent to Mr Mostert’s property, with the motivation that said property would be used to house homeless people. Instead of renting the property, the Council offered to sell the property to Yatsar at a very reasonable price, and also allowed us the opportunity of paying the amount off in installments, over a period of five years, interest free.

In 1998/99 we succeeded in a bid to rent another property from the Pretoria City Council, which is also adjacent to the two properties mentioned above. The lease agreement for 10 years, stipulated that the property will be exclusively used to provide accommodation for homeless people.

In 2000 Yatsar is registered as a Non-Profit Organization, and applied for donations from Social development (Integrated Community Development) for the ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT and JOB CREATION for UNEMPLOYED and HOMELESS PEOPLE.” We succeeded in our application for this property and received R 270 000 for the purchase of equipment.
